Individuals enrolled in Medicare Part A and Part B typically enroll in a Medicare Advantage Plan (with or without Prescription Drug coverage) during the Annual Enrollment Period (AEP). There are exceptions that allow individuals to enroll outside of this period. Please refer to the BlueJourney PPO Evidence of Coverage or the BlueJourney HMO Evidence of Coverage or contact the plan for more information.

Medicare beneficiaries may also enroll in BlueJourney HMO or BlueJourney PPO through the CMS Medicare Online Enrollment Center located at http://www.medicare.gov

Your BlueJourney HMO or BlueJourney PPO enrollment application will be subject to the approval of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), the federal agency that administers Medicare. Capital BlueCross will notify you by mail to let you know if CMS has accepted or denied your enrollment application for BlueJourney HMO or BlueJourney PPO coverage. If you have health benefits through your own or your spouse’s employer, please contact your Group Administrator.

The plan offerings in which you are enrolling may not be available in the following contract year, because by law, plan sponsors can choose to not renew their contract with CMS or reduce their service area and CMS may also refuse to renew the contract, thus, resulting in a termination or non-renewal.
